To us,"custom" usually means starting with the log -- a select log that we've quarter-sawn for maximum stability and grain beauty. We may even be able to use a log from your building site. Next, we cure the wood by carefully air-drying it to a moisture content of 14% and then kiln-drying it to a 6%.
Before presenting you with a design, we listen to and understand your needs and wants -- as well as the functional demands your interior must meet. As your project progresses, we continue to ask for your input to make sure the finished project meets your expectations.
Your cabinets can be as custom as your like, incorporating special features such as a built-in wine and plate racks, roll-top appliance center and above stove mantel. Many features you may think of as "custom" are "standard" in our cabinets including: Dove-tailed drawers-- hand constructed of red oak to create a proportionate, pleasing look that's a sign of true craftsmanship. Base pull-outs--these bi-level shelves slide out for convenient access and are constructed of white ash, a select hardwood. True-divided mullion windows--unlike mullions that are surface-mounted over a single pane of glass, true-divided mullions are constructed with a separate pane for each opening. Crown molding--a fine finishing touch that's never overlooked. Tongue-and-groove paneling or raised panels on finished ends--raised panels on all doors, waist-level tilt-out trays at the sink, adjustable shelves.
To help your floor retain its stability and beauty, we cure the hardwood to a moisture level that's compatible with the humidity of your home. Our floors feature: Random-width and length for a free-flowing, organic look. High-grade lumber "select and better". Select species of wood such as pecan, cherry, walnut and white oak. Inlay including linear feature strips or curved borders.
In addition to the fine woodworking projects that we create, we also build one of a kind log cabins with hand-hewn components, that we create ourselves, or used logs from older structures. The log walls are chinked inbetween and the ends of the logs are notched. The love for the traditional methods, that are used to build the cabins, are reflected in our other projects.
Wine Cellars, Bookcases and Mantels
Our built-in wine cellars, mantles and bookcases are constructed of premium hardwoods such as mahogany, walnut and cherry -- and are accented with fine carvings and detailing to complement your decor.
An armoire, Murphy bed, dining room suite, executive desk as well as coffee, end and sofa tables are among the custom pieces we've designed and built for our customers. We can create an heirloom-quality piece as well as a contemporary art piece to accent that special space in your home.
